Women's Ministry
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. - Titus 2:3-5
Introduction
One of the vital works of the church of Christ is ministering to the women in its congregations. Due to the feminist influence of our culture, many Christian women no longer feel valued in the role God has given them in their stage of life. Often married women don’t fully understand what a good wife/mother is or how to embrace their role in the family. Moreover, women who are single, divorced, or widowed may feel lonely or left out of the “mainstream” activities of families in the church. Understanding how women can make a unique and much desired contribution to bless God’s people, is the goal of our women’s ministry.
Jesus has blessed and exalted the role of the women in His church. He wants every woman, no matter what her circumstances or stage in life, to find joy and significance in h
er ability to contribute to the body of Christ using her distinct gifts.
God delights when women use their extraordinary gifts for intimacy, relationships, and nurturing to make their homes a haven of love for their husbands and children, and open their homes to extend the joy of their house to others. He requires older women to teach and mentor younger women, and all women to serve the church by providing caring support for those who may be in need. (Proverbs 31:20)
The Women’s Ministry
exists to unify our women in relationships of loving friendship and service to God’s people, to equip them in the Word of God, and encourage them in grace to live for God’s glory in every stage of life.
